At Crossfit13 we also have an injury clinic specialising in Sports and Remedial Massage.
Sports and Remedial massage is a manual deep tissue therapy that will help to restore the functionality of soft tissue within the body. This incorporates massage, stretching, mobilisation and activation techniques that utilise a multifaceted approach to soft tissue therapy. The benefits of sports and remedial massage are:
• Promotes recovery from injury and restores mobility to muscle tissue
• Restores proper function to the tissues and therefore movement
• Corrects postural deficiencies and reduces the risk of injury
• Helps to promote recovery from exercise and improve performance
• Maintains the body in better condition.
I have been involved with the health and fitness industry for over 10 years. After completing an advanced personal training diploma and working as a personal trainer for a number of years I decided to further my knowledge of the human body and how it responds to injury. I studied for a diploma in sports and remedial massage at the renowned North London School of Sports Massage where I graduated with a level 5 diploma.
I spent 2 successful seasons as the Sports Massage Therapist for the first team at Watford Football Club where I assisted the medical team with the recovery of the players. I have also been part of the Athlete Services Team at the CrossFit Games European Regional for the last 2 years helping the top European athletes (including the 2015 CrossFit Games Ladies Champion Katrin Davidsdottir) with their recovery and also any injuries they picked up during the event.
I am currently studying for degree in Osteopathy at British School of Osteopathy.
